Book a Librarian
Book a Librarian allows you to reserve a free half hour with a librarian at the Kearney Public Library. We can help with your research paper, work with you on learning computer skills, or assist you with library resources such as eBooks and databases. Fill out the form to request a one-on-one technology or skill-building session. Additional appointments can be requested with a maximum of two appointments per month.
Book clubs will love our collection of book club bags. Each bag contains at least eight copies of a title and most include a discussion guide. We can also help you access other book club resources from around the state.
Computers & Technology
Discover information about our technology and computer resources. From the computer lab, free Wi-Fi, and scanners to the library's mobile app and texting services, you'll find something for everyone.
Curbside Pick Up
You can place items on hold to be picked up curbside.
Do you have a collection or hobby that you'd like to display to the community? We have several secure display cases throughout the library that can be reserved.
Take advantage of library notices via email! Get email reminders of items due soon, about available holds, overdue items, and more. We never sell your personal information - your privacy is important to us.
Come to our DIY space where you can create, invent, and learn. Reserve time on one of our many machines and learn as you go. We value the process involved in making - in tinkering, in figuring things out, in playing with materials and tools. This is lifelong learning at its finest.
Meet Your Maker(space)
Meet Your Maker(space) allows you to reserve a free half hour with a Makerspace staff member at the Kearney Public Library. We can give overviews, tips, demonstrations, and one-on-one help learning the Makerspace machine of your choice. A librarian will contact you within 1-2 business days, and a session will be scheduled within a week of contact unless a later date is desired. Additional appointments can be requested with a maximum of two appointments per month.
We have meeting room space available at no charge for use by nonprofit organizations and individuals for educational and informational community meetings and programs. Reservations are scheduled on a first-come, first-serve basis by the Administrative Assistant.
24/7 access to search the online catalog, view your library account, place holds and renew items. You can also browse eBook and eAudio titles, library events, find our contact information, and more. The app is available for free in the Google Play Store and the App Store for Apple devices.
Print at the library from your mobile devices, your computer at home, or anywhere with an internet connection.
Need a private spot in the library to get some studying done? We have several rooms available. The smallest rooms can fit from 1-4 people, the largest up to eight. Walk-ins are welcome, with reservations having priority.
Take advantage of library notices on your mobile phone! The texting service allows you to receive text notices about available holds, items that are due soon, overdue items, fines, and library events. Once signed up you'll be able to send texts to renew items and check ISBN numbers to see whether books are in the library.
