Transportation of Refuse
All vehicles transporting refuse or waste to the landfill must take precautions to ensure that the refuse or waste materials will not be allowed to be blown, dropped, or strewn from the vehicle along the roads leading to the landfill.

General Methods for Refuse Transportation
Yard Waste |
Enclosed Vehicle |
Completely covered, tarped, or netted flat bed trailer. When bagged and not above vehicle sides no tarp is required. |
Trees |
Any Type Vehicle |
Roped, strapped, tarped, or netted trees that don't drag. |
Household Waste |
Enclosed Vehicle |
Completely covered, tarped, or with end gate netted. |
Mixed Construction |
Enclosed Vehicle |
Completely covered, tarped, or material and shingles with end gate netted. |
Concrete, Asphalt |
Enclosed Vehicle |
None required as long as dirt, stone, and brick with end gate load does not exceed the box height at the edge of the box. |
Pallets, Lumber |
Any Type Vehicle |
Roped or strapped if materials exceed box height. |
Furniture, Appliances |
Any Type Vehicle |
Roped or strapped if materials exceed box height. |
Additional Fees for Unsecured Hauling
Commercial
Commercial vehicles hauling waste that is not securely fastened will be charged an additional $20 at the landfill before unloading.
Residential
Residential haulers hauling their own refuse that is not securely fastened will be charged $10.
