    Pay your overdue fees and help your community at the same time! For each non-perishable food item you bring in, we'll waive $1.00 in library fines from your account. There are a few things you'll want to take note of. 1. the food item you bring in needs to be in good condition and can't be expired and 2. this event doesn't remove the fees associated with interlibrary loans or lost or damaged items.

    This is a lap-sit program for youth and a caregiver to enjoy together. Introduce your little one to the sounds and rhythms of the spoken word, giving them a head start on language learning. No registration is necessary, just be ready for fun! Children must be accompanied by an adult. Designed for those Ages 0-2.

    Hearing stories is a great way to help children develop a love of language, books, and learning. Come enjoy stories geared for ages 3 – 6. Registration is not required for this event, just come prepared for fun! Parents do not need to sit in on story time but are welcome. Please stay in the building.

  6. Explore the Makerspace

    Come explore the Makerspace! Each month we will have a new introductory project that highlights the creative possibilities of different machines in the space. One staff-led demonstration session will introduce each project. You can then take your packet and create it when it is convenient for you. If you can't make it to the demonstration, you can schedule a one-on-one session with our Makerspace staff by emailing brosenthal@kearneygov.org. You will receive your project packet during that session.

  7. Crafternoon: Spookley the Square Pumpkin

    One day in the pumpkin patch the strangest little pumpkin grew. Spookley was different, he was square! All of the other pumpkins teased him until Spookley proved that being different can save the day. Listen to Miss Shawna read "Spookley the Square Pumpkin" and then create a fun craft. We are offering both in-person and virtual sessions for this program - so choose the right option for you when you register! Supplies for the virtual session will be available for pick up beginning at 9:00 am and the video will be released at 4:00 pm on the day of the in-person program. The in-person session will begin at 4:00 pm at the library. You can craft anytime you wish. Limited to 50 participants per session. For those ages 2-12. Please register in advance.
