June 2, 2020, All Day
This paper crane folding program is based on the nonfiction book "Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes." Participants will receive an envelope with 25 origami sheets per session and can register for as many sessions as they wish. All registrants will receive this project by mail. Packets will be sent on the day of the program. Each completed packet will earn participants one entry into a drawing for an origami gift basket! Participants are encouraged to share their cranes with a local cancer patient or return them to the library when it reopens to be mailed to an organization for cancer patients. Want to learn to fold origami cranes, or need a refresher? Instructions will be included in the packets, or you can watch our instructional video – available on our website on June 1. This program is for all ages!
Create an iconic masterpiece or a fun design with stickers! Similar to paint-by-number, each template is divided into spaces, each with a number that corresponds to a particular sticker. Find the sticker, peel it, and place it in the right space. Voila! There are both adult and youth/teen sessions with a limit of 50 participants per session. All registrants will receive this project by mail. Packets will be sent on the day of the program.
