With Edgerton’s portable planetarium, we literally bring the universe to you! Relax and enjoy as presenter Dan Glomski, longtime astronomer, shares an interactive tour of the night sky. With July 20, 2019, being the 50th Anniversary of the Lunar landing, Dan will also take an extended look at the moon.
The planetarium uses Nightshade, a version of the popular freeware astronomy Stellarium to depict the sky. From a computer, images are projected using a video system equipped with a fisheye lens. With a diameter of five meters, the inflatable dome will have enough room to seat approximately 20 people. We have scheduled a full day at the library, consisting of 8 – thirty to forty-minute shows.
Unfortunately, the planetarium is not wheelchair accessible.
