  2. Cranes for Cancer

    June 17, 2019, 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM

    This program is based on the nonfiction book "Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes." Adults will meet in the Niobrara room to fold; while the youth meet in the South Platte to fold a simpler version. At summer's end, all origami cranes will be sent to cancer patients to give them hope. No registration required.

  3. Book Bags for Tanzania

    Try out the library’s sewing machines with this simple project! We’ll be sewing book bags to send to children. This is a great project for beginners. All materials will be provided. At the end of the summer, bags will be mailed to Hearts in Unity for distribution to children in Tanzania. Registration required at least two days in advance.

  5. Genealogy Quest

    If you love digging into your ancestral past, this is the study hall for you! Use the library’s resources to help you in your quest. This class won’t teach you what to do, but volunteers from the Buffalo County Historical Society and library staff will be there to give assistance when it’s needed. So, if you enjoy delving into your ancestry but haven’t been finding time to work on it – come search with us!

    Similar to paint-by-number, each template is divided into spaces, each with a number that corresponds to a particular sticker. Find the sticker, peel it, and place it in the right space. Voila!   22. Family Night: Life-Size Yahtzee!

    Come play one of your favorite board games….jumbo size! Yahtzee is a classic dice game played with 5 dice. Each player's turn consists of rolling the dice up to 3 times in hope of making 1 of 13 categories. Each player tries to fill in a score for each category, but this is not always possible. When all players have entered a score or a zero for all 13 categories, the game ends and total scores are compared. This event is limited to fifteen teams of six or fewer people.
