  1. Cranes for Cancer

    July 7, 2020, All Day

    This paper crane folding program is based on the nonfiction book "Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes." Participants will receive an envelope with 25 origami sheets per session and can register for as many sessions as they wish. All registrants will receive this project by mail. Packets will be sent on the day of the program. Each completed packet will earn participants one entry into a drawing for an origami gift basket! Participants are encouraged to share their cranes with a local cancer patient or return them to the library when it reopens to be mailed to an organization for cancer patients. Want to learn to fold origami cranes, or need a refresher? Instructions will be included in the packets, or you can watch our instructional video – available on our website on June 1. This program is for all ages!

  2. Extreme Dot to Dots

    July 7, 2020, All Day

    Try your hand at an extreme dot to dot puzzle! They are so intricate with 600 to 1400 dots! This program is available to everyone ages 8-18 and 18+ with a limit of 50 participants per session. All registrants will receive this project by mail. Packets will be sent on the day of the program.

    Listen to Miss Shawna read a fairy tale and then learn how to create a craft based on the book. Supplies needed to create the craft will be mailed to your home (exceptions: glue and tape). Suggested for youth in PreK-Grade 3. Limit of 50 participants per week.

  8. Imagine Your Story with the Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium

    Zuly the Zoo Fairy found a book of magic spells and mixed up a potion, but something went wrong. Now she needs the help of an expert from Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium to separate the real animals from the fantasy creatures. During this presentation, you will encounter live animals, develop an appreciation for the mythology of cultures around the world, and learn the importance of conservation and saving the earth. Join us for this special Zoom classroom event where we look for dragons and unicorns at the Zoo! Participants will be emailed a Zoom access link the morning of the program. So please include your email in the registration. Please note: You must sign into the room prior to the start of the program. Admittance to the classroom will close five minutes after the program's start time. Space is limited to 95 Zoom accounts. *Please register by Zoom account (group) and not each person individually.
